Argon is most commonly used as a shielding gas for arc welding, GTAW applications and for GMAW of aluminum. It is inert, non-toxic, colourless, odourless and tasteless. It can be used in pure form or as part of various mixtures. It is non-corrosive and can be used with any common metal provided the equipment is designed to withstand process pressure.
