Optimal temperature for flowers & fruit development is 15 – 28°C. Minimum sunlight of 6 – 8 hours per day.  Morning sun and afternoon shade is preferable.

Strawberries enjoy well-draining soil that is loose. Sandy, loamy soils are ideal, while clay is not a good choice. This loose soil allows water to run through, feeding the plant without waterlogging the roots. Use soil with a pH of 6.5 to 6.8. Strawberry plants enjoy some acidity in the soil, add a bag of acid compost before planting.
