Product Description

NEOREGELIA FIREBALL

Product Information

The Neoregelia 'Fireball' is a popular, miniature bromeliad known for its intense red foliage when grown in bright light. It's a low-maintenance, epiphytic perennial that works well in hanging baskets, containers, or tropical terrariums.

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to achieve its vibrant red coloration. Avoid intense, direct midday sun which can burn the leaves.

Watering: Keep the central rosette (cup) filled with water. The surrounding soil should be allowed to dry slightly between waterings to prevent root rot. It's recommended to empty and refresh the water in the central tank weekly to prevent stagnation.
Humidity:

Thrives in moderate to high humidity, making it ideal for terrariums and vivariums. Misting the leaves can help maintain humidity.
Temperature: Ideal indoor temperatures are between 15-22°C, but it is tolerant of average room temperatures. It is not frost-hardy.

Soil/Substrate: As an epiphyte, its roots are primarily for anchoring, not nutrient uptake. Use a well-draining, airy substrate like an orchid mix, a blend with perlite or pine bark, or mount it on driftwood or cork bark.

Fertilizing: Fertilize sparingly, if at all. A balanced, water-soluble fertilizer at half-strength once a month during spring and summer is sufficient. Many growers find that repotting annually with fresh soil provides enough nutrients.

Propagation: Pups can be removed and replanted once they are about one-third to one-half the size of the mother plant.
