Nandina, heavenly bamboo or sacred bamboo, is a species of flowering plant in the family Berberidaceae, native to eastern Asia from the Himalayas to Japan.
Plant in spring or autumn, in a sunny, well drained spot that is sheltered from cold, drying winds. Nandinas do best in a slightly acidic soil, so mulch with bark chippings after planting. Nandina doesn't need pruning but can be lightly trimmed and tidied up in spring.
Intensely coloured upright growing Nandina with fiery red young foliage which is retained while plant is actively growing. Mature foliage deep green. Striking autumn colours. Mature plant size may vary due to growing conditions and climate, ±60cm x 70cm
