Breynia is a genus of perennial evergreen shrubs and small trees in the family Phyllanthaceae, best known for the popular ornamental species Breynia disticha (commonly called the Snow Bush or Ice Cream Bush).
Light: Prefers bright, filtered light or partial shade. While it can handle full sun, the best variegation (especially the pink and white hues) often develops in bright, indirect light.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but well-drained. It does not tolerate drying out completely or sitting in waterlogged soil.
Climate: A tropical plant that thrives in warm, humid conditions (USDA zones 10–11). It is sensitive to frost and should be moved indoors in colder climates.
Maintenance: Prune regularly to maintain a compact, bushy shape and to encourage new, colourful growth flushes.
