At half past nine on the morning of February 20, 1956, the first load of grapes with a small Bedford truck was loaded by Mr. Kappie Matthee unloaded at Brandvlei Cellar. This is a historic and exciting event. All the directors and most of the shareholders attend the occasion. Photos are taken and everyone watches the first grapes being unloaded and ground. Everyone has been looking forward to this event for a long time, but doubts have been rife: Will it become a reality in time? And here it is now! All the doubts and worries are gone in the blink of an eye! After the meeting, the board simply goes straight to the boardroom to ensure that it will not be just a "one day" success.
