Bignonia cherere, commonly known as the Mexican Blood Trumpet, is a vigorous evergreen climbing vine celebrated for its spectacular show of large, trumpet-shaped flowers. While still widely recognized by this name in the horticultural community, its current scientific classification is Amphilophium buccinatorium, having previously been known as Distictis buccinatoria.
Light: Performs best in full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
Climate: Thrives in warm, frost-free regions. It is hardy to about -3°C to -9°C, though it may lose leaves or die back to the roots in heavy freezes.
Soil: Prefers loamy, well-drained soil enriched with compost.
Water: Needs regular watering during its establishment phase and through hot summer months, though it becomes moderately drought-tolerant once mature.
