VOERMOL MAXIWOL PRODUCTION PELLETS is a ready-mixed, high quality lick for sheep and goats in pellet form:
- is easy to handle and convenient to use. It is ideal for situations where problems are experienced with mixing licks due to insufficient labour and/or lick troughs, also where grain is unavailable or too expensive to use;
- limits wastage and wind losses because it is in pellet form;
- contains adequate intake inhibitors to regulate intake;
- is a lick and not a complete feed, therefore roughage must be available at all times;
- supplies bypass protein, energy and minerals which stimulate production;
- can be used as a maintenance lick, with huge success, for any class of small stock;
- is especially suitable for late pregnant and lactating sheep, Angora and Boer goat ewes because of the high content of bypass protein;
- ensures a high intake of bypass protein, which has the following advantages:
- It decreases lamb mortality rate because it stimulates better udder development as well as colostrum and milk production, which improves maternal behaviour and boosts vitality after birth;
- It decreases lamb mortalities because it lowers the risk of abnormally thick and viscous colostrum. Thick colostrum causes high lamb mortalities because this coincides with low colostrum and milk production as well as delayed onset of lactation;
- It promotes lamb growth and decreases the occurrence of tail end and orphaned lambs because it stimulates milk production;
- It promotes muscle development, which ensures better growth, resulting in a higher weaning mass and better grown out replacement ewes;
- It promotes wool growth in wool sheep and fibre growth in Angoras. It also enhances tensile strength of fibres;
- It stimulates intake of roughage and dry pasture;
- It reduces the impact of parasites on productivity of sheep because it increases the immunological responsiveness of animals during stress (e.g. mating, late pregnancy, parturition, weaning, etc.).
